The Director Strategy & Enablement leads the development of the organisational resilience and safety strategic plan, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide processes. It shapes and leads a multi-year transformation of the business group to reflect contemporary best practices, develops new operating models and processes, challenges existing ways of working, promotes a safe and resilient mindset, and coordinates efforts across departments for effective government group operations.
This is a role that will collaborate closely with Tier 2 and Tier 3 leaders, empowering them to resolve strategic issues on behalf of the DCE Organisational Resilience & Safety.
This role is a fixed-term opportunity until 4th January 2026

You have successfully executed transformation programmes at multiple organisations, ideally in the areas of risk, resilience or health and safety. You can confidently present a compelling and ambitious vision of the future that gains buy-in and commitment from others.

**You will bring the following in your kete**:

- Advanced systems-based problem solving and analytical skills
- A strong ability to operate effectively in a Māori cultural setting, appreciating the complexities and whole of government issues related to succeeding with Māori
- Exceptional attention to detail and advanced communication skills that allow you to influence across an organisation
- An ability to challenge existing ways of working and positively agitate for change
- Experience in developing new OR&S operating models, methods, processes, tools and metrics
- A Relevant tertiary qualification in change, organisational psychology, safety or resilience, or continuous professional development in these areas

Utu ā-tau | Salary
The midpoint of the salary range is $189,127 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $160,758- $226,953. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
