The Policy and Regulatory Services Group at the Department of Conservation (DOC) provides strategic guidance and leadership to safeguard our natural taonga and resources.

**Opportunities now available**:National Permissions Advisor (Permanent)**:
As a National Permissions Advisor, you'll play a key role in implementing initiatives of our permissions improvement programme. You'll also guide national regulatory processes and foster cultural competency within the team. We are looking for someone who is skilled in risk identification and management, is able to prioritise and manage their time effectively, and has excellent communications skills.

- Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate analysis into meaningful reports for the target audience.
- Legislative Awareness and Understanding: Understands relevant legislative processes or possess an environmental management/planning background.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Proficiency in planning/legislative permissions processes.
- Deep understanding of Treaty principles in decision-making.
- Knowledge of conservation legislation and Treaty Claims settlement Acts.
- Confidence in making tough decisions.
- Strong analytical skills and report-writing capabilities.
- Solution-oriented mindset.

**The salary range for these positions are**:

- National Permissions Advisor: $92,450- $116,985
- Senior Treaty Permissions Advisor: $79,656-$100,639
- Senior Permissions Advisor: $79,656- $100,639
- Permissions Advisor: $68,535- $86,423 with the starting salary of the successful applicants being based on their relevant skills and experience.
