The Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai (DOC) serves to protect and sustain nature across Aotearoa. We put nature and people at the heart of our mahi, guided by te ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We do this by:

- protecting land, species, ecosystems, and cultural heritage for conservation purposes
- managing threats and adverse impacts
- being a voice for conservation
- connecting people to nature.

**He angitūtanga** | About the role**

You will be directly involved in building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of people, stakeholder groups and industries, providing professional advice and support to internal and external customers, contributing to the regulatory management of New Zealand's natural resources.

We are currently trialling new approaches to our work and this is an exciting and dynamic time to join our team and bring your skills and perspective.

If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

- A confident and able communicator (both written and verbal) who builds trust with others.
- Can demonstrate strong analytical skills and be able to transfer analysis into a professional quality report.
- Have a sound understanding of the relevant legislative processes that we work under and/or an environmental management/planning background.

The salary range for this position is $66,535 to $83,906 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
