About the Role

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Dunedin-based Youth Specialty Service, providing specialist mental health services for 14-18 year olds. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with primary health sector, education, and NGO sectors to assess and treat young people in need.

As a Child and Youth Mental Health Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • ">
  • Providing high-quality clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the multi-disciplinary team">
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans that prioritize service user and family/whānau inclusion and recovery">
  • Supporting rural-based clinics through Telehealth appointments and clinical support">
  • Maintaining high standards of practice and working as part of a cohesive team">

About You

">

We are looking for an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with a strong commitment to biculturalism and a sound understanding of Kaupapa Māori approaches in healthcare settings. Your ability to provide clinical leadership and reliability is pivotal to this position.

You must have:

  • ">
  • Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent">
  • Eligibility for registration with the NZ Medical Council">
  • A full driver's license">
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth">
  • Experience in projects/initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks">
