Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Oncologist to join our team in Dunedin Hospital. The Southern Blood & Cancer Service is a tertiary referral centre with strong links to the School of Medicine at Otago University.


Role Description

This role involves providing medical oncology services to patients, participating in outreach clinics to peripheral centres, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care. You will also be expected to participate in an on-call roster, overseeing admissions and managing in-patients with your RMO team.


Requirements
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent qualification enabling specialist (vocational) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
  • Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

Benefits

The successful candidate will enjoy a salary range from $185,380 to $267,980 per annum pro rata, depending on experience. They will also have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including opportunities for professional development and growth within the organisation.
