Elderly Care Specialist Lead

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Consultant Geriatrician to join our team at the Southern District Health Board. As a key member of our Older People's Health Service, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and support to our experienced team of geriatricians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for delivering high-quality care to elderly patients, with a focus on promoting independence and participation. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive services for people with complex age-related health problems.
In this role, you will be based in Dunedin Hospital and will be responsible for:
- Providing clinical leadership and support to our team
- Developing and implementing new services and initiatives to improve patient outcomes
- Working collaboratively with other hospital and community services to ensure seamless care transitions
- Maintaining close liaison with community services to promote wellness and independence

This role offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $185,380 - $267,980 per annum (pro rata), as well as a range of benefits including:

About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to hold Vocational/Specialist Registration in Geriatric Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You will also need to demonstrate:

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Commitment to quality service delivery and development
