Senior Mental Health Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Dunedin Hospital. As part of a small multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for the psychiatric assessment and care of patients, taking a leading role in maintaining and enhancing our Mental Health service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and treatment of older persons
- Working collaboratively with the primary health sector consistent with Southern's values
- Contributing to ongoing service improvement and workforce innovation
- Participation in the on-call roster is required, which is currently 1:18
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent
- Current registration with the NZ Medical Council
- A personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and an unequivocal dedication to teamwork
- The ability to provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the multi-disciplinary team
- A strong commitment to service user and family/whānau inclusion in service delivery, along with a focus on recovery and a sound understanding of biculturalism
- A commitment to continuing professional development and providing training to students at all levels
