This role is ideal for someone who is pragmatic, capable, and able to create and convert a pipeline.
The successful candidate will understand strategy and be able to drive growth, with a significant focus on new business development.Key Result Areas of this Role:Identify, engage, and acquire new business customers within the Wellington region to drive substantial revenue growth.Achieve designated individual sales target of $TBC per week by developing and executing a strategic new business acquisition plan.Utilize relationships with Courier Franchisees, internal teams, and industry contacts to generate high-quality sales leads.Develop tailored courier service solutions to meet the needs of small to medium-sized businesses and third-party logistics (3PL) customers.Maintain a strong pipeline of potential clients, ensuring consistent conversion rates and long-term business sustainability.Follow up on all sales leads received through the public website, franchise staff, or Courier Franchisees within 24 hours.Assist with annual price increases as required.Key Challenges of this Role & Critical Success Factors:Deliver on the regional new business growth targets as set by the Regional Sales Manager or National Sales Manager.Ensure all customer commitments and service agreements are acted upon promptly.Collaborate closely with internal teams and Courier Franchisees to ensure smooth customer onboarding and service excellence.Maintain a deep understanding of Aramex's services and pricing structures to effectively communicate value to prospective clients.Ensure all customer interactions and proposals align with Aramex's brand, values, and corporate material.Adhere to compliance, workplace safety (OH&S), and industry regulations.Participate in networking events, trade shows, and industry forums to enhance market presence and identify new business opportunities.Provide weekly progress reports, detailing sales pipeline activity, wins, challenges, and market insights.Undertake Courier Franchisee Support visits as directed by the Regional Sales Manager to obtain new clients.Report any service failures reported by clients and direct these to the correct department managers/supervisors for remedial action.Wear the Aramex corporate uniform and maintain a professional, business-like manner always.Person Specification:Confident, friendly, and professional demeanour with a strong ability to influence and negotiate.Results-driven with a passion for business development and a track record of achieving sales targets.Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work autonomously while contributing to team objectives.Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.Well-developed planning and time management capabilities, with an ability to manage multiple sales opportunities effectively.Energetic and enthusiastic with a team-oriented approach.Knowledge/Skills/Experience:Proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or a related role (preferably in the logistics, courier, or transport sector).A strong understanding of the sales process, from prospecting to closing deals.Experience in working with SMEs and 3PL customers is advantageous.Proficiency in CRM systems (Sales Force) and sales reporting tools.A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Wellington region as required.Sales experience preferred but not essential.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with commercial acumen.Good planning and time management skills.Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.This role is 100% focused on new business development and will not involve account management of existing customers.Regular interaction with Courier Franchisees and operational teams to ensure service delivery aligns with customer expectations.Attendance at regional sales meetings, strategy sessions, and industry events.Commitment to upholding Aramex's core values and contributing to a high-performance sales culture.Adherence to Aramex New Zealand policy and procedures in conjunction with the Regional Franchise Deed and Manuals (as relevant to the role).
