Ngā Pātaka Kōrero o Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland Libraries) have a strong community focus and we are an extraordinary destination for the people of Auckland. Our Library & Council Service Assistants play a vital part within our library team ensuring that our libraries within the Waitematā local board, provide a world-class customer experience that is second to none.

No two days are the same, you will greet and assist customers with a variety of queries from assisting customers to access library & council services, supporting with the delivery of programmes and events, digital troubleshooting, Wi-Fi, and general computer queries.

Many of our libraries are open 7 days a week so flexibility around working days, including weekends and late nights, is required. We are looking for 2 people. One position is based at Leys Institute Little Library and one at Parnell Library both are permanent part time opportunities - 22 hours a week. These roles will require you to be flexible to work across all library services within the local board, which includes Grey Lynn Library, Leys Institute Little Library and Parnell Library.

Flexibility, adaptability, superb people skills, a willingness to learn, a passion for customer service and a can-do attitude are essential.
- Be willing to help create a whānau environment where everyone works together to achieve team goals
- Enjoy working with people from diverse ethnicities and backgrounds
- Be a quick learner who would be able to assist people with technology queries
- Love working with tamariki and can assist with programmes
