Ngā Pātaka Kōrero o Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland Libraries) have a strong community focus and we are an extraordinary destination for the people of Auckland. Our Library & Council Service Assistants play a vital part in our library team ensuring that our libraries provide a world-class customer experience that is second to none across the entire Auckland network.

You will be working within a library whānau that has a team culture strong in te reo and tikanga Māori, a place where everyone can feel they belong.

No two days are the same, you will greet and assist customers with a variety of queries from assisting customers to access library & council services, supporting with the delivery of programmes and events, digital troubleshooting, Wi-Fi, and general computer queries.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
Flexibility, adaptability, superb people skills, a willingness to learn, a passion for customer service and a can-do attitude are essential.
- Be willing to help create a whānau environment where everyone works

together to achieve team goals
- Enjoy working with people from diverse ethnicities and backgrounds

particularly Pasifika and whānau Māori
- Be a quick learner who would be able to assist people with technology queries
- Love working with tamariki and can assist with programmes
- Enjoy day-to-day frontline library service and the opportunity to

connect directly with our library patrons.

Here you’ll have the opportunity to work across the largest public libraries in Australasia and serve one of New Zealand’s fastest growing cities. In return, you’ll be immersed in a team of remarkable and talented people who have a passion for people, their community and who love making a difference in helping to make Auckland a vibrant place to live, work and play.

We have fixed term and also permanent part-time and full-time term opportunities available. Hours range from 20 - 40 hours a week.

Many of our libraries are open 7 days a week so flexibility around working days, including weekends and late nights, is required. Every day is a new experience
