Ngā Pātaka Kōrero o Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland Libraries) has a strong community focus and we are an extraordinary destination for the people of Auckland. As A Library & Council Service Assistant you will be working within a library whānau that has a team culture strong in te reo and tikanga Māori, a place where everyone can feel they belong.

No two days are the same, you will greet and assist customers with a variety of queries from assisting customers to accessing library & council services, supporting with the delivery of programmes and events, digital troubleshooting, Wi-Fi, and general computer queries. The successful applicant will be available to work across the Albert-Eden/Puketāpapa local board libraries and will be based at Mt Roskill Library.

The 20-hour role will be worked across Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Key Responsibilities:

- Promote self-service options to enable customers to self-serve confidently on future occasions.
- Work confidently with new communities, supporting diverse community needs and growing cultural awareness.
- Respond to internal and external customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Keep up to date with current technology to support customers with access to resources in all formats and develop an understanding of the standards and tenets of professional librarianship.
- Support customers to navigate complex or persistent issues and provide exceptional customer service.

This is a fixed-term part-time position working a minimum of 20 hours per week, with the possibility of working additional shift when available.
