An opportunity has arisen to work as a Library & Council Service Assistant, currently working at East Coast Bays Library.

We have a permanent part-time position working Friday, Saturday, Sunday OR Saturday, Sunday, Monday at Coast Bays Library. You will need to be flexible about where you work as you may be working across the Upper Harbour/ Hibiscus and Bays Local Board libraries.

East Coast Bays library is a busy community library serving a diverse community. We are looking for a flexible all-rounder to join and contribute as part of a high achieving cohesive team.

You will be collaborating and supporting the team in the day to day running of the library. Daily you will be engaging with customers in the library, making it easy for them to access the various library resources and services and ensuring that they have an unforgettable experience at the library. We love collaborating with community partners and we welcome people from all walks of life.

We are looking for someone who will muck-in to do whatever needs doing with a smile on their face and in their heart. Your mahi will include supporting day-to-day operations and the development and delivery of programmes driven by community needs. Every day is different which is what makes it fun

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds
- Experience delivering literacy programmes online and/or face-to-face
- Comfortable with technology and able to support customers to successfully use information resources and devices
- Willing to work with tamariki and rangatahi and muck in with the delivery and development of programmes and events
- Flexibility and collaboration across all aspects of your mahi
- Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Knowledge/understanding of Te Ao Māori or willingness to learn
- A second language is very desirable but not necessary
