The _Growing Up in New Zealand_ study stands as Aotearoa's most extensive and impactful longitudinal study dedicated to child health and wellbeing. This pioneering initiative follows the journeys of more than 6,000 Rangatahi and their families. Through the meticulous collection of rich information, the study is shaping the path toward flourishing futures for all young people in Aotearoa. Over the course of 13 years, we have sought to unravel the complexities of growing up in 21st Century New Zealand, tracking over 6,000 Kiwi children from their time in utero to the present day.
- Growing Up in New Zealand _(GUiNZ) is more than just a study; it's a source of scientific and policy-relevant evidence that informs the development of family-focused policies and enhances our understanding of child outcomes and equity. The study's remarkable journey has encompassed over 90,000 interviews and the collection of more than 100 million pieces of invaluable data.

**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The cohort relationship manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to implement the _Growing Up in New Zealand_ Cohort Retention Strategy. Leads the Participant Retention and Engagement team and plays a critical role in strengthening the relationship and connections that exists between the GUiNZ team and participating families. Their primary focus is to ensure that participants in the study understand and are supported to take part in our research activities, specifically emphasising Māori, Pacific, and Asian families and whānau from the cohort.

Key aspects of the role include:

- Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the cohort retention team, to implement the _Growing Up in New Zealand_ Cohort Retention Strategy.
- Provide leadership in developing and implementing of the GUiNZ cohort engagement action plan.
- Operate as part of the GUiNZ senior management group to support and report on progress and deliverables of the GUiNZ engagement strategy and cohort engagement action plan.
- Use deep understanding of research stakeholder cultural needs to inform planning that helps to build strong and productive mutually beneficial relationships.

We offer a full-time, fixed-term (to 29 February 2028) employment opportunity in _Growing Up in New Zealand. _Salary range; $80,000 - $99,900, based on skills and experience.
