**He angitūtanga** | About the role**

As a Partnerships Manager you will lead a team of 9 - 10 Partnerships Advisors, 4 of which are yet to be recruited. As this team is still in the process of being built, we are looking for an experienced people leader with a hunger and passion to establish and grow the team and lead them through ambiguity as you work through strategy conception and implementation. You will inspire, motivate, and encourage your team to deliver on the priority outcomes, through strategic partnership with external organisations or individuals. Responsibilities of this position are expected to change over time as DOC responds to changing needs, new tools, and new ways of working. The incumbent will need the flexibility to adapt and develop as the environment evolves. This includes performing any other reasonable duties as required.

This role is a full time, permanent opportunity, with the flexibility to be based in Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch, or Dunedin.

- Influencing outcomes, gathering information, and providing advice to key internal and external stakeholders.

- experience driving growth through strategic change while leading teams through times of ambiguity
- ability to inspire and facilitate innovative thinking, approaches for new ways of working
- demonstrated success in building and leveraging relationships to deliver on organisational imperatives
- ability to work with ambiguity, complexity, and evolving environments
- demonstrated ability to successfully work with influential investors and senior executives in external organisations.

Desirable skills and experience:

- significant professional experience in environmental, conservation, sustainability and/or business development fields
- significant years team leadership experience
- an understanding of Tikanga Māori and Te Ao Māori
- politically agile with an understanding of government systems.
