_Mō te tangata | About you _

  • Ideally, you will have: _
- _Policy development, policy process, and policy analysis skills. As well as political and tactical thinking skills. _
- _Proven success at building relationships and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders. _
- _The ability to deliver in a political environment that could be high pressure and rapidly changing. _
- _An articulate and compelling communication style with strong writing and presentation skills. _
- _The attitude to be a constructive team member who actively contributes to the positive culture of our team. _

_Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience _
- _Have a relevant tertiary qualification in policy, planning, law, resource management, or a related field. _
- _Recent graduate with up to 2 years of relevant experience. _
- _Working knowledge of Resource Management Act and Schedule 1 processes _

_Mō te tīma | About the team _

  • The Policy Implementation team works to identify emerging environmental, economic, and community issues for the Waikato region, and helps plan for and position the region (including Waikato Regional Council) to address these issues. We work across a wide range of policy and planning topics. Our work programmes include longterm adaptation planning, submissions, advocacy, and building relationships with our iwi partners and the territorial authorities within the region. _
