We are looking for a Senior Policy Advisor to support the team work on significant policy challenges that make a difference across the region, and to New Zealand.

Mō te tangata | About you

  • A good understanding of environmental resource management issues.
  • Have an interest in RMA planning (including plan drafting and Schedule 1 processes).
  • Enjoy creating & writing policies and communicating their importance & meaning to stakeholders.
  • Can fit into a small team working in a dynamic project environment.

Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience

  • Have a relevant tertiary qualification in policy, planning, law, resource management, or similar, and experience in a relevant field.
  • Have a working knowledge of regional government and the relevant legislative environment.
  • Ideally 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of Resource Management Act and Schedule 1 processes.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent policy development, policy process, and policy analysis skills.
  • Political and tactical thinking skills.
  • Ability to deliver in a political & rapidly changing environment.
