Mō te tūranga | About the role
As Graduate Consent Officer, you will get a wide range of exposure to:

  • Processing resource consents for water takes, wastewater discharges, coastal activities, air discharges and land development.
  • Prepare consent evaluation reports.
  • Provide information and advice on the consenting process.
  • Prioritise and manage your time effectively to achieve practical timely outcomes across multiple projects within statutory timeframes.
  • Present at consent hearings.

Mō te tangata | About you

  • The ability to demonstrate and evaluate RMA policy and technical information on environmental effects.
  • A strong understanding of natural resource management issues and processes, whether that be in water allocation, wastewater management, land development, farming practices or others
  • Be a confident communicator with a strong customer focus.
  • A high level of organisational skills including time management and prioritisation.
  • An understanding of Te Ao Māori, which will be beneficial to this role.

Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience
years' applied experience in resource consent processing.

  • A tertiary qualification in a Sciencerelated discipline or Resource Management.
  • Applied experience in resource consent processing will be beneficial.
