Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

Job Title:
Systems Audit Specialist - 4 Positions

Role type:
Permenant

Location:
Location negotiable

Salary range:
$113,626 to $132,972 depending on skills and experience

Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role

As a Systems Audit Specialist you will be travelling regularly.

You will help host visits from overseas auditors who come to New Zealand to check that their country requirements are being met - with an aim to open up or continue market access for our products.

These audits underpin New Zealand's $50 billion food and primary industries export trade.

You will visit businesses across the country to confirm that they are complying with New Zealand's, and where relevant, overseas country requirements.

Your findings will help to improve our systems and ensure that they are fit for purpose.

You will carry out special audits as required to provide information to the audit initiators and provide technical expertise to Accreditation Agencies such as IANZ and JASANZ during their assessments of people and agencies wanting to achieve or maintain recognition to work within our system.

You will audit the recognised agencies and persons to make sure that they are carrying out their specified functions and activities as intended.

Normally, you will carry out audits in a sector that you are familiar with, however we encourage auditors to increase the scope of the sectors that they can work with over time by supporting other audits.

In between audits you will be doing the administrative part of the role, planning future audits, reporting, training and as time permits other MPI work relevant to your field of expertise.

We do encourage down time after these audits to re coop and re scope you work.

Mōu - About You

We are looking for people who have significant experience in auditing or verification or have an in depth understanding of a sector and the requirements that sector operates under.

We want people who are looking to move on to the next stage in their career.

  • You will be an expert in your field or have the potential to be an expert with the right support and training.
  • A New Zealand drivers licence
  • You will be a strong and clear communicator, both orally and in writing.
  • Able to hold the regulatory line, while maintaining effective relationships.
  • You will be able to represent New Zealand effectively and professionally with overseas auditors.
  • We are currently looking for people with dairy, veterinary, or food experience. Preference will be given to those who are prepared to expand their scope to dairy as we have a shortage in this area.
Mō tō mātou Rōpū - About the Team
