Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
As the People Systems Administrator - Payroll, you will be part of a cross functional team responsible for maintaining the on-going reliability, performance, and support of the Ministry's people systems and environments, with particular focus on the Ministry's new payroll system, SAP SuccessFactors
  • Employee Central Payroll (ECP)

  • Manage the implementation of and deployment of system changes, maintain appropriate standards, documentation, audit requirements and controls for software transports, upgrades and releases.
  • Ensure system modules are operating to support the relevant functions in the areas of audit, controls and compliance,
  • Support the resolution of systems issues in partnership wth key stakeholders and system vendors.
  • Act as a key interface with business representatives to represent requirements and engage on appropriate solutions.

The salary range for this role has a midpoint of $100,139 total fixed remuneration, negotiable depending on skills and experience.

The total remuneration is inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution.

We'd like to hear from you if you are an experienced People Systems Administrator with the following skills and experience:

  • SAP SuccessFactors EC Payroll standard processes and procedures relating to system changes and their implementation into operational running.
  • Experience in dealing with configuration set up of SuccessFactors EC Payroll.
  • Understanding of payroll processes, procedures, calculations, etc.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills, good critical thinking and good communication.


Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Māori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Māori (the Māori worldview) into your work.

If you are just starting on this journey that's OK too - as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability.
