Join our amazing Administration Team in the Canterbury Hauora Coordination Hub and provide a quality administrative function, while supporting tūroro (patients) and their whānau.


Mō te tūnga | About the role


This Administrative role plays a vital role in partnering with the Hub - s clinical and non-clinical teams as well as internal and external stakeholders.

This role shares accountability with the team to provide care in the community to ensure safe and supported care for the tūroro (patient(s)) and their whānau in the community, which aims to improve equity outcomes.

This is a part-time, fixed-term role till the 30th of September 2023. This role requires you to work 32 hours per week, on a roster that covers 7 days a week. You should be available to work on public holidays and weekends, between 8 am and 5.30 pm. There are two shifts that start at either 8 am to 4:30 pm or 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. We aim to have clear rosters between 2 and 3 weeks ahead of time. This role is based in an easily accessible central Christchurch location.

In addition to this customer-focused approach, this role involves:

  • Providing administration support to the Hub
  • Coordinating and facilitating incoming referrals
  • Coordinate the patient information systems
  • Record information in the patient information system
  • Recording the nature of contact from the public and health providers and carrying out associated actions
  • Referring clinical enquiries to the appropriate clinical service arm
  • Supporting the distribution and setup of IT devices, initial troubleshooting and logging of any issues
  • The distribution and return of equipment to patients tūroro
  • Demonstrating respect and empathy toward tūroro (patient(s), their whānau and other members of the team

Ko wai koe | About You**We are looking for someone who has a passion for the manaaki hauora (Health Industry) and wants to contribute in a meaningful way. To be successful in this role, you should enjoy interacting with tūroro (patients), be able to work autonomously and take initiative. In this role, you would be required to work in a fast-paced environment, be adaptable to change, a collaborative problem-solver, and be able to manage multiple priorities and distractions.

This role requires the following:

  • Experience in a customerfacing administration or coordination role
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of and commitment to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Typing and Data Entry skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Previous experience in customer service and conflict resolution would be advantageous
