About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Contract Management Lead to take charge of our contract management function within the Infrastructure Directorate.
In this role, you'll be pivotal in developing, managing, and administering professional services and construction contracts that are critical for delivering our Council's ambitious vertical and horizontal infrastructure capital works.
You'll oversee contract processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and efficient, maintain and monitor contract registers, and establish a Contractor Performance Framework to evaluate supplier performance.
This role demands a commitment to service excellence and a professional approach to maintaining a positive public profile.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and administer professional services and construction contracts.
- Oversight of contract processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintenance and monitoring of contract registers.
- Establishment of a Contractor Performance Framework.
- Adherence to all council policies, legislation, and contract obligations.
- Primary operational contact for contract matters within the Infrastructure Directorate.
Requirements
- A relevant degree or equivalent knowledge.
- 5+ years' experience in managing professional services and physical works contracts.
- A strong understanding of NZ contract documentation (NZS 3910, 3915, 3916, 3917), contract law, and government procurement rules.
- Technical knowledge of NZ standards, NZTA specifications, and Local Authority processes for roading, utility, and building projects.
- Experience in contract administration and GETS.
- Knowledge of project management frameworks and practices in New Zealand.
- Experience in delivering Local Authority roading, utility, and building projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing abilities.
