The role will involve bringing a broad range of industrial systems knowledge and experience to provide solutions for clients future aspirations or existing systems. As such, you will be working with a broad base of staff such as project managers, system architects automation/software/MES/Cyber and Infrastructure engineers, both internal and external to the company.

**Responsibilities**:
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated engineering group manager to lead a very talented team, who thrives on variety, to undertake systems engineering design & delivery of services to a varied client base across a multitude of industries. This managerial role will be an integral part of our successful and rapidly growing business, which is earmarked for significant expansion over the next few years in terms of footprint and capability. You will be a pillar of this high performing team, managing these top-tier engineers to deliver high quality solutions for new and exciting clients.

You will work on interesting and challenging client initiatives which could be as part of a single or multi-disciplinary team, often in a mixed stakeholder environment alongside clients and members of other organisations. Due to the focused nature of the work, you will be based in the Auckland region.

You will possess a broad range of knowledge, skills and ability to support:

- Personnel Development, Mentoring and Guidance
- Business Development with new and existing customers
- Strategic Planning
- Budget / Cost Centre Control
- Resourcing and recruiting
- Supporting bidding activity.
- Providing technical expertise/direction and advising on Systems Engineering activities
- Helping, designing & implementing technical solutions alongside project managers & estimators.
- Maintaining Company Quality Standards.
- Support of Technical Specifications.

In addition to managing this technical group and being part of the company leadership team, you will be expected to manage and maintain the associated cost center budget across all aspects of the group including but not limited to: projects, services, system studies/proposals, investment appraisals detailed design etc.

**Qualifications**:

- You will also have a proven track record in **_a number of _**the following areas:

- 3 years of Management experience running small to medium sized team (current team is 16).
- Cost centre control and budget management.
- 2 years experience as a Senior Automation Engineer in the Water, Food production, Pharmaceutical or Dairy industry.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent core competence and experience in delivery of Systems Engineering / project activities.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic or Control and Instrumentation Engineering or relative proven experience.
- Able to show good technical experience.
- Good understanding of technical effort in relation to bids and ongoing projects.
- Experience of technical document production.
- Occasional temporary requirements to work away from home, both in the NZ and overseas as project/client requirements dictate.
