**Mō te tūranga | About the role**
- Lead, co-ordinate and manage the Council’s financial planning and reporting services that guide decision making and provide business analysis insights to support achievement of Council’s strategy and goals.
- Be responsible for leading and guiding the development of the financial aspects of the Long-Term Plan and Annual Plan as well as financial performance monitoring and forecasting activities.
- Lead the reporting to Council and the Executive Leadership Team on our performance against our financial goals, priorities, and measures.
- Help translate strategy into action, supporting the Council in shaping its work programmes and priorities, and monitoring our performance against these.

**Mō te tangata | About you**
- Professional accreditation, ideally as a Chartered Accountant.
- Extensive experience in the provision of financial planning and reporting services that demonstrate the linkage between strategy, action, and results - ideally within a public sector context.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Previous project management experience, with the ability to effectively lead and manage cross-organisational activities with multiple, dependent workstreams.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
- The ability to work collaboratively with other specialists across the organisation to achieve shared objectives.

- Essential _
- _Relevant bachelor’s qualification in accounting or related field. _
- _Professional accreditation as a Chartered Accountant. _
- _Applied experience in financial planning and reporting. _
- _Seven plus years’ experience in financial planning and reporting, and in people leadership. _
- _Broad general management skills including people leadership, business acumen and positive business achievements and financial management. _
- Desirable _
- _Related post graduate qualification. _
- _Previous experience in local government. _
- _Success at a senior role in a multidisciplinary organisation with demonstrable achievements. _
