**Mō te tūranga | About the role**
- Lead, co-ordinate and manage the Council’s planning, decision making, and accountability requirements under the Local Government Act 2002.
- Translate strategy into action, supporting Council in shaping its work programmes and priorities, and monitor our performance against these.
- Responsible for leading and guiding the development of the Long Term Plan, Annual Plan, decision making and policy development processes, including engagement and consultation processes. To complete the process, you will also lead the reporting to Council and the Executive Leadership Team on our performance against our goals, priorities, and measures.
- Reporting to the Director of Finance & Business Services, you will be responsible for two direct reports, the Senior Corporate Planner and Corporate Planner.

**_Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience _**
- _Tertiary qualification in Policy, Planning, or a relevant area. _
- _Previous experience in policy and planning in a central or local government context. _
- _Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the planning and accountability requirements set out in the Local Government Act 2002. _
- _Previous project management experience, with the ability to effectively lead and manage cross-organisational activities with multiple, dependent workstreams. _
- _Applied understanding of effective communication and engagement practices (IAP2). _
