**About the role**
As a People and Capability Consultant you will coach and advise leaders and kaimahi on day-to-day operational HR functions and people initiatives. You will work in partnership with leaders, taking a Kaupapa Māori approach, to provide valuable people services and support across all generalist P&C functions. Reporting to the Head of People & Capability, you’ll champion the organisation’s Vision and Values, ensuring best practices, policies, and legislation are upheld.

**Key Responsibilities**
Your key responsibilities will include acting as a trusted consultant, providing high-level P&C support to leaders and kaimahi throughout the employee lifecycle. You will play a crucial role in managing performance concerns, employment relations, and grievance resolutions in alignment with the organisation’s values. You will assist in facilitating change processes, consultations, and performance reviews. Collaborating on recruitment and induction processes will be essential, along with maintaining the HRIS system, updating of policies and procedures and completing general P&C administration tasks.

**Skills & Experience**
To excel in this role, you will have at least two years of experience in generalist HR, accompanied by a strong understanding of New Zealand Employment Law. Your knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Tikanga Māori will be crucial in ensuring culturally appropriate practices are upheld. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and relationship management abilities. You will be able to build effective connections with colleagues and leaders, enabling you to utilise your strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex HR issues.
