**The role**
Reporting to the Head of People and Capability - Contracting, you’ll be working with our regional management teams to develop and drive People Plans that support the Northpower Group engagement, capability development and performance improvement strategies.
- As a P&C Business Partner, you’ll work on establishing credibility, understand how the Contracting Division operates, and coach managers and senior executives for driving enhanced engagement, uplifting performance, employee relations, implementing new initiatives and to deliver success.
- Key accountabilities in this role include:
- Lead, mentor and develop our Northern P&C Advisor
- Partner with the learning team, Regional Managers and General Managers to identify and focus training and development opportunities
- Maintain a visible, approachable presence for P&C teams in your region and connect with our employees both in field and office
- Collaborate with the leaders to solve Employment Relation (ER) issues including choosing appropriate actions and approaches while supporting and train managers in dealing with ER challenges
- Manage the local Union matters, actively participate and support in Union negotiation processes such as variations and second tier bargaining
- Support training and capability development initiatives, constructive performance management and reporting
- Work collaboratively with the recruitment team to support training, attraction, on boarding, experience and retention strategies

**About you**
If you are currently in an HR Business Partner role with at least three years’ of experience and wanting to move into a people leadership role, then this role is for you You will be passionate about people and enjoy working in a complex and diverse work environment.
- You will also have:
- Impeccable communication skills, can build relationships and influence people at all levels with empathy and patience
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations and industrial relations along with skills in collective bargaining, union negotiations and handling sensitive issues
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong consulting and influencing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships where you are considered a true business partner
- A tertiary qualification within HR
