We are a team of highly skilled professional staff responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery to all of the University’s internal and external customers.

Our specific focus is on the student experience felt by our students here at the University of Otago. As part of the Academic Division, we work to provide accurate and timely information, assistance and advice across a range of activities from admission to graduation.

**_The role/Te mahi_**

The role of Lead Administrator within Student Administration plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of Student Administration services, focused on the provision of timely, accurate, courteous and consistent advice, information and assistance across all activities within our unit.

You will work in partnership with key academic areas to provide and manage a variety of support activities. You will play an important role in prioritising and setting workload as well as acting as an escalation point for complex and/or challenging enquiries. A key aspect of this role will be to ensure the continual improvement of administrative practices to optimise efficiency and quality.

Tasks and responsibilities will vary depending on the portfolio in which you are working, although we anticipate that this role will initially be largely focused on Health Sciences admissions. A more thorough list of possible tasks can be found in the position description, but some of the activities you might be tasked with managing are below:

- Assessment of eligibility against prescribed criteria, and where appropriate making/communicating decisions.
- Ensuring compliance with requirements under the Children’s Act 2014.

- Strong Microsoft office and PC skills.
