**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our team as **Executive Assistant** to the Director, Health Protection. This role is critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures).

The purpose of the Executive Assistant role is to provide a range of day-to-day coordination functions, including project co-ordination to enable the Health Protection Directorate to deliver on a high-quality work programme. This position description describes the core purpose, key result areas, general relationships and experience needs required. Where there are additional domain or context specific needs these are described further in the attached schedule for each position.

You're master of task prioritisation, with the ability to handle a wide range of responsibilities to support the team. You excel at being the go-to point of contact for urgent matters, ensuring seamless communication within the group. You also actively contribute to the implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance at all levels. Your coordination skills shine through when it comes to scheduling and managing meetings, as wells as gathering essential documents to facilitate decision making. **Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A relevant tertiary qualification - or comparable experience
- Proven and significant work experience as an Executive Assistant used to working at with senior levels, providing support to senior executive(s) and their team 2-3 years in coordination and administration roles
- Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information
- Advanced skills in the MS Office Suite with special emphasis on Outlook & Microsoft Teams
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the capacity to manage relationships at all levels, including with senior officials and with health sector leaders
- Able to provide work programme/project coordination, and planning support
