**Te Tākinatanga - Our Story**
Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity established in 2017 under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 2017. Our role is to reduce unwanted fires, respond to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents, natural disasters and support increased community resilience.
**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**
The Executive Assistant (EA) is responsible for providing professional executive administrative services and support to the Region Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Region Manager’s activities and engagements, enabling the Region Manager to perform at an optimum level across all areas of their position.

Your day-to-day work will give you the opportunity to use your initiative and judgement to tackle a range of interesting and challenging tasks. This includes the full range of executive support; administration, information, and scheduling needs; collating and drafting reports and supporting the Region Leadership Team and the wider business to assist and manage issues.
**He pūkenga tou - Skills & Experience**
You are a team player with previous experience at the senior executive PA or EA level, ideally within a large complex organisation and/or within the public sector. You are adept at relationship building with stakeholders and the wider Regional and National teams, and you must be able to demonstrate well-developed communication and collaboration skills. A growth mindset along with a people centric approach, a calm and measured style, and the ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and composure will ensure your success. Excellent time management, attention to detail and the skills to manage competing priorities are a prerequisite. The ability to think ahead and anticipate, proactively offering suggestions in resolving problems and making effective recommendations at the senior level is also required. Computer literacy is essential.
