**Job Description** About the Role**
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Strategic Asset Manager to oversee our enterprise asset management system, including ‘whole of life’ process from point of introduction into service until disposal. This position will be based in Wellington looking after our Lower North Island, South Island and Circular Services divisions.
**Responsibilities**
- Oversee the enterprise asset management system, ensuring assets are managed through to disposal, maximizing value and minimizing costs.
- Spearhead the integration of fixed assets into the JDE Capital Asset Management system.
- Provide data-driven insights to develop proactive, informed, and optimized maintenance plans for mobile and fixed plant, fleet, and equipment.
- Audit and report on asset availability, lifecycle costs, preventive maintenance (PM), compliance, and replacement schedules.
- Work closely with divisional regional managers to ensure assets are maintained in line with company safety standards, policies, and budget requirements.
- Collaborate with divisional GMs and other asset managers to implement consistent maintenance practices and leverage the JDE-based system for work order processing, planning, and scheduling.
- Partner with IT and technical teams to develop innovative asset maintenance processes, leveraging advancements in asset technology.
**Qualifications** About you**
- Tertiary qualification in a technical discipline, preferably in engineering (mechanical engineering is highly relevant).
- Strong background in Repair & Maintenance (R&M) and asset management, particularly in fleet and/or fixed plant management.
- Proven project management experience with complex projects and the ability to manage multiple relationships and deadlines.
- Results-driven professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate across multiple functions to achieve desired outcomes.
- Proven track record in driving KPIs and delivering results under pressure, while maintaining focus on long-term objectives.
- Strong people management and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Confident and professional interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of senior professionals, both in and out of the office.
- Actively seeks innovative solutions to improve the effectiveness of maintenance functions.
