Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
As Senior Asset & Facilities Manager, you will lead our Asset Management maturity pathway across a diverse range of property & assets. Our property & assets includes offices, laboratories, plant & equipment, and even kennels. We have properties located across the country from Kaitaia to Invercargill and a couple in Chatham Islands.
You will work closely with the National Facilities Manager and external technical specialists to provide strategic and operational direction and ensure effective planning, delivery, and maintenance of sustainable and fit for purpose assets. As the technical authority you will provide end-to-end accountability and continuous improvement of the through-life stewardship of assets, from business case to commissioning, maintenance and renewal.
Focus of this role will include the following.
- Asset & Facilities Management technical lead for the recently completed Interim Post Entry Quarantine (IPEQ) facility in Mount Albert.
- Property and Assets representative on the design working group of a new $400m+ Plant Health and Environment Capability (PHEC) facility which will be located adjacent to the IPEQ This includes the development and implementation of Asset Management Plans, data collection, levels of service, risk, performance and investment planning, developing budgets for maintenance, upgrades and replacement, and managing the outputs and performance of service providers.
- Once established you will expand your AM/FM leadership across other MPI facilities in the greater Auckland region.
- Nationally you lead the maturity journey to align with ISO 55001 Asset Management across the entire portfolio and be the primary point of contact for the national energy consulting and bill verification contract.
**The general key accountabilities of this position include**:
- Leading and coordinating the physical day to day operation of MPI buildings and infrastructure
- Establishing and overseeing maintenance planning, schedules/routines, appropriate levels of critical spares, 3rd party service level agreements, & reporting
- Contribute to facilities management procurement processes and leading budgeting and forecasting.
- Assure business cases, plans, designs, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance and renewals are consistent and comply with the required policy, standards and legislation, using a whole-of-life stewardship, resilience and risk management approach.
- Developing asset strategy, policies, and frameworks as well as technical asset management plans, design, and maintenance standards for assets
- Setting short, medium, and long-term work programmes through information analysis including interpretation and reporting
- Regularly providing asset and utility information, advice, risk, and performance for Property & Assets
Mōu - About You
To be successful in this role, you will have an extensive background in property, asset, and facility management. Your experience will include substantial major projects as a key contributor or technical authority, advising on design and maintenance requirements.
**Your experience will include**:
- Experience with ISO 55001 alignment and similar asset management frameworks
- Proven financial management skills and commercial acumen
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage contracts and facilities
- Management of risk and issue management strategies and processes
- Significant experience in managing relationships and consultation with a range of stakeholders
You will have great interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), be confident influencing and negotiating, and have well-developed strategic, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
Importantly, you will have a working knowledge of relevant property legislation, including the Building Act 2004, Resource Management Act 1991, and Health and Safety at Work Act 2016.
