The PHA is responsible for leading on all public health and population health policy, strategy, regulatory, intelligence, surveillance, and monitoring functions.

Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do

You'll be providing comprehensive support to the Director Deputy-General (DDG) of the Public Health Agency, ensuring that they are supported in their day-to-day activities and that their diary is managed effectively.

You'll be responsible for performing a diverse range of administrative, secretarial, coordination, and research tasks.

These tasks will require a high degree of confidentiality, initiative, tact, and independent judgment, and you will need to demonstrate exceptional organisational and communication skills.

You will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, as this role is crucial to the efficient running of the group.

You will also be responsible for managing the DDG's time, ensuring that they are appropriately prepared for their engagements, and that emerging issues and risks are identified and managed in a timely and effective manner.

You will will need to demonstrate strong decision-making skills, be proactive in identifying and resolving issues, and can work independently and as part of a team.

Overall, this is an incredibly rewarding role that will require you to be flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.

You'll be able to work to tight deadlines and be comfortable working with senior stakeholders both within the Ministry and externally.

  • Previous experience in an Executive Assistant role, providing executive support to an executive leader
  • A keen eye for detail and passion for delivering a quality product
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills in a variety of settings, including crosscultural, employee and customer
  • A proven track record of forming and sustaining partnerships, and the ability to influence and work with staff at all levels.
