Manage all aspects of the Waka Kotahi Corporate Property portfolio

The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi As the Manager - Corporate and Property Assets you will manage all aspects of the Waka Kotahi Corporate Property portfolio.

The role is primarily responsible for implementing proactive property management practices and the planning and delivery of capex projects across our corporate offices throughout New Zealand.

About you | Ko wai tēnei To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven effective leadership and direction across all corporate property services including leasing, rentals and maintenance
  • Proven experience in leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders
  • Ensure effective management of all our nationally leased property portfolios as the primary conduit with Waka Kotahi's external landlords
  • Ensure performance of terms and conditions of leases are being met
  • Manage events such as rent reviews, renewals, lease termination and assignments to completion
  • Manage and provide expertise for all our building assets including furniture and fit outs
  • Ensure effective service delivery with all property requests in a timely and responsive approach
  • Assist in the management of all outsourced providers in property and facilities maintenance
  • Establish a clear commercial framework to work towards
  • Reports for revenue v budget, status reports on portfolio, key transaction status, Board papers as required, leases prepared for execution all managed effectively on a frequency required by the Head of Corporate Property


You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori.

You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
