The Role:

As a full time, permanent key team member in our BOH team, you'll support the day-to-day kitchen operations of Alberts F&B outlets, member's clubs, cafes, bars, corporate catering and Palmer Bar in Auckland's CBD.  Although you a key part of your focus will be the delivery of the Tapas style shared plates menu at Palmer bar, your work will include a mix of a la carte and catering/event style prep-work to support our wider team as well.

We are known for high quality menus across our portfolio, so you'll get to make some creative choices in supporting our chef and team to satisfy our dynamic and interesting regulars and visiting customers.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Palmer shared plates offering
  • Daily prep and service
  • In-venue, In-room, office and catering execution
  • Food planning, menu design input, prep, quality assurance and consistency of delivery
  • Learn hygiene, food safety, health and safety, compliance, certifications and licensing
  • Excellence in service delivery

About You:

You'll need 1-2 years chef experience and/or equivalent culinary education.  You will be able to work flexible hours from early morning to late evening shifts.  Ideally, you will have an NZ Certificate in Cookery level 4, or equivalent industry experience (1-2 years minimum).   You will be a MASSIVE team player and support answering YES to our guests' needs.

You'll need some IT skills, ideally with MS Office, Loaded and Safe Food Pro. Above all, you must really care about customer service and the teamwork it takes to make each visitor experience memorable, so they keep coming back. We have built a reputation and following for our service, food and beverage, and we're ready for you to help us take it even further.
