Work days only in our contemporary central city cafe. We are searching for an experienced Senior Cafe Chef to join our team in our cafe, Lieutenant in Auckland's newest development in Commercial Bay.

Immense passion for New Zealand Contemporary Cafe Cuisine is an essential ingredient to being successful in this role as well as:

  • Great energy, enthusiasm and team spirit

  • At least 2 years experience in a New Zealand Cafe or catering experience

- Excellent communication skills including written and verbal English

  • Attention to detail and good technical skills.

  • Speed and efficiency

This is a full time and permanent position working 30 to 50 hours per week. The roster will change depending on the needs of the business and employees.

In this role you will be required to:

  • Maintain establishment policies and procedures in the kitchen e.g. house rules.
  • Maintain standards for Food Safety in all food preparation areas.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment & environments are operational, tidy & in good condition.
  • Produce food to establishment standards.
  • Order food and food preparation items/non-consumables when required.
  • Ensure prep is up to date for days off.
  • Communicate with and support staff.
  • Impart knowledge, skills and train staff to encourage high standards.
  • Uphold morale in the kitchen.
  • Attend kitchen meetings.
