Auckland City, New Zealand Ports of Auckland Full time

**The city of Auckland and the Port of Auckland have grown together on the Waitematā and Manukau Harbours for more than 175 years.**

Port of Auckland is part of the special character of our city and plays a vital role in our economy, delivering the things we need and enjoy.

Nearly three-quarters of the port's inbound cargo stays within the Auckland and Upper Waikato region. Our location on Auckland's doorstep means the delivery of goods is quick, the cost of goods is low, and we are focusing on reducing our carbon footprint to become a sustainable Port. We also have a network of freight hubs throughout the North Island, to improve access to the port for the provinces.

**ABOUT THE ROLE | Te tūranga mahi**

We're looking for a **Digital Optimisation Lead** to manage and uplift the lifecycle of our business systems portfolio, ensuring the systems that power the Port remain fit for purpose, secure, and aligned with our business needs.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role - combining product ownership, business analysis, and vendor relationship management. You'll lead system upgrades, support continual enhancement, and track the value and cost of every improvement.

You'll be a key partner to Digital Business Partners and Delivery Managers, working closely with internal teams and vendors to deliver digital solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and business outcomes.

**ABOUT YOU | Ko wai koe**

You're detail-oriented and delivery-focused, with a deep understanding of digital systems and how to get the most out of them. You know how to balance competing priorities, communicate with stakeholders, and keep a close eye on value for money.

You'll bring:

- 10+ years' experience in digital optimisation or continuous improvement roles
- Strong knowledge of business systems, technology platforms, and software lifecycles
- Proven experience in vendor management, contracts, and support agreements
- Budgeting and cost tracking expertise, with strong financial acumen
- Experience leading small-scale system improvement initiatives and enhancements
- Ability to translate business requirements into digital improvements
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Technology, or related field
- Background in analysis, product ownership, or delivery highly valued

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES | Ngā Haepapa Matua**
- Manage the digital business systems portfolio - upgrades, improvements, and lifecycle
- Prioritise and deliver continuous improvement initiatives with digital and business teams
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, service levels, and system enhancements
- Monitor system performance and user feedback to identify and resolve issues
- Lead planning for enhancement roadmaps aligned to business priorities
- Track ROI, budget, and ongoing value of improvement initiatives
- Ensure strong coordination between delivery teams, service management, and vendors
- Act as a key escalation point for incidents and system issues

**OUR BENEFITS | Ngā Painga**
- (T&Cs apply)_

We care about our people. Here's what you'll enjoy:

- Free onsite parking and gym
- Free internal shuttle service to public transport
- 15 days of wellbeing leave per year + optional 5th week of annual leave
- Annual flu shots and confidential counselling
- Flexible working options
- Career development and growth pathways
- Onsite physiotherapist and psychotherapist
- Staff discounts with PB Tech, Specsavers, Southern Cross, and more

We pride ourselves on being a great place to work and consider all employees part of the port whānau.
