We have a newly created opportunity to join our Procurement Operations tīma (team) as **Procurement Optimisation Lead. **This is a tūranga (role) where you'll be able to combine your passion for continuously improving procurement processes with your outstanding relationship management pūkenga (skills), to deliver of a well-articulated and prioritised programme of mahi (work). Mō te Tūranga | About the Role We sat down with our Head of Procurement - Operations, and they let us know the following about the tūranga. **What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this tūranga will complete?** - Contribute to the strategic roadmap across procurement to ensure it delivers an uplift in maturity of our function. - Manage the prioritisation and delivery of transformation and optimisation initiatives across the tīma. - Mahi across all procurement tīma and stakeholder groups impacted to ensure changes are well understood, delivered and embedded. - Support initiative owners across the tīma with effective baselining, identification of success metrics for each initiative and execution of tasks as needed. - Ensures structured process improvement methodologies are applied to changes (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) to ensure optimal outcomes are achieved. **What is the tīma culture and environment like?** We are a collaborative tīma that works hard but also likes to have fun and are passionate about what we do. We encourage curiosity and challenging the status quo with a stakeholder centric mindset. The procurement tīma have an ambitious programme of mahi across five strategic priority areas. While the whole tīma is engaged on this delivery plan, this tūranga will be instrumental in driving the plan and ensuring all activities are well prioritised and managed. **What is your management style?** I like to trust my tīma and empower them to make a difference. I don't like to micromanage and value individuals who come up with solutions when problems present themselves. **What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?** This tūranga has no direct report but will have to leverage the capability of the entire tīma to ensure our strategic priorities are delivered. Influencing pūkenga and an ability to collaborate within procurement but with other stakeholders is key to the success of this tūranga. **What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this tūranga?** - Strong stakeholder engagement pūkenga. - Drive for ensuring best practice using proven process improvement disciplines. - A strong focus on continuous improvement. - Ability to mahi alone but also to mahi across the tīma. **What specific tech pūkenga are required to be successful?** Project Management experience and Lean Six Sigma or Agile qualifications desirable. **Nau Mai ki te Pēke o Aotearoa | Come to the Bank of New Zealand
