Are you passionate about making a difference in your community and having a real impact in the creation of intergenerational wealth for Māori and Pasifika? We are seeking an Affordable Housing Community Advisor to join a supportive and tight-knit team to make a positive impact on the lives of whānau in the Tāmaki Region.
Our client is a unique, values based organisation that truly makes a difference within the Point England, Panmure, and Glen Innes neighbourhoods, by achieving regeneration across housing and spatial developments to improve the Community.
As the Affordable Housing Community Advisor, your primary focus will be on building strong relationships and fostering community partnerships to ensure the successful delivery of affordable housing initiatives in the region. You will be instrumental in supporting whānau along their house ownership journeys from beginning to end.
What you will do:
In this role you will lead and deliver engagement and demand strategies to empower whānau to access affordable housing opportunities in Tāmaki, whilst developing and implementing strategies to attract demand from both within and outside the Tāmaki region. Alongside this you will collaborate with Mana Whenua and a wide variety of key stakeholders to support the demand attraction strategy for affordable housing, by being the face of the organisation for all things related to the affordable housing programme. This role will require you to plan and facilitate community engagement through social community events to ensure the voices of whānau are heard whist also educating the community on the available housing affordability and financial readiness programmes.
Who you’ll be:
You will be a natural leader with a warm and patient approach and an ability to build strong and meaningful relationships within the community. You will be confident, able to stand your own ground and hold your mana. You will be a real “doer” focused on making a difference by delivering results alongside a supportive and engaging team. You will be a self-starter and motivator with an innovative ability to look for creative ways to engage and expand accessibility to affordable housing to the wider community. You will be agile and able adapt to a changing environment, whilst having the ability to pivot the strategy if required. You will also have experience and knowledge of Te Ao Māori, and Tikanga Māori. An understanding of regeneration programmes and affordable housing initiatives is desirable alongside the proven ability to manage different projects and present to a wide variety of stakeholders.
