About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Director of Sales New Zealand to lead our sales strategy in the region. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales plans that drive revenue growth and exceed annual targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement sales strategies for all New Zealand hotels across contracted market segments.
- Work closely with the Global Sales team to deliver set goals and maximise inbound and outbound business into TFE Hotels locally and globally.
- Conduct needs analysis to determine areas requiring focus and identify new opportunities across the network of hotels in New Zealand.
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including corporate clients, travel agents, and key partners.
- Set goals and expectations for the Sales team, monitor performance, and ensure they meet activity and sales targets.
- Manage top corporate, travel agent, and key partnership relationships and manage key accounts for the portfolio.
- Collaborate with the Operational Head of New Zealand and Revenue teams to align goals and outcomes.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, practices, and developments through research and client contact.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, action plans, and production reports for the Global Sales Officer.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in hotel management or a related business course.
- A minimum of seven to ten years' experience in senior hotel sales roles.
- Prior experience in developing and executing sales strategies at a group and individual hotel level.
- Strong relationship building skills to maximise conversion and sales performance.
- Leadership skills to develop and grow the sales team.
- An ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
- Sound understanding of emerging trends in the industry.
- Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to make sound decisions and understand commercial implications.
- Ability to think strategically and plan on a mid-to-long term scale.
