We're seeking an experienced trades Senior BDM with a proven track record in the plumbing, building or electrical industry. The purpose & meaning of your job: The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding the client base by leading business development efforts, managing key accounts, and securing new business opportunities.
This senior role goes beyond typical business development by mentoring junior staff, providing strategic guidance, and taking a leadership role in shaping the sales strategy.
The Senior Business Development Manager will play a key part in the long-term business development goals of the company, leveraging market insights, advanced sales tactics, and industry expertise to foster growth and build lasting client relationships.
A competitive base salary, benefits, bonus & car are included in the package. Job DescriptionYour key responsibilities: Lead business development strategy:Develop and implement advanced business development strategies to identify, target, and acquire high-value clients across markets.
Drive initiatives that generate revenue and expand the customer base through both new business and growth within key accounts.
Mentorship & leadership:Mentor and guide Business Development Managers and other team members.
Share best practices, provide feedback, and contribute to the professional development of the team.
Assist in recruiting and onboarding new team members.
Strategic account management:Oversee the management of key accounts, ensuring the highest level of service delivery and client satisfaction.
Lead the efforts to identify new opportunities within existing accounts to expand business and deepen client relationships.
Advanced negotiations & sales:Take a lead role in the most complex or high-value sales negotiations.
Manage client discussions at the executive level, ensuring successful contract terms and agreements that align with company goals and client needs.
Sales forecasting & reporting:Provide senior management with insights into sales performance, trends, and forecasts.
Take ownership of key sales metrics, analysing pipeline data to ensure accurate forecasting and the achievement of revenue targets.
Market analysis & competitive intelligence:Continuously assess market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
Use this intelligence to adjust strategies, optimize sales efforts, and identify new opportunities for the company.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams:Work closely with product, marketing, and operational teams to ensure alignment and a seamless delivery of customer solutions.
Lead collaborative efforts to ensure that customer needs are met and sales targets are achieved.
Client relationship building:Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with high-level decision-makers across various industries.
Serve as the trusted advisor to key clients, ensuring their needs are consistently met while identifying new business opportunities.
Sales leadership & performance management:Set clear performance objectives and KPIs for the team, tracking progress and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Lead by example in achieving individual and team sales targets.
Desired Skills and ExperienceKey Qualifications & Competencies: Proven Business Development Experience:Minimum 10 years of experience in business development, with a demonstrated track record of success in generating new business and managing key accounts.
Leadership & Mentorship Abilities:Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience in guiding and developing junior business development team members.
Expert Sales Negotiation Skills:Extensive experience negotiating high-value sales contracts with executive-level clients.
Market Expertise & Strategic Thinking:Deep understanding of market dynamics, trends, and customer needs.
Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies that align with business goals.
Advanced Communication & Relationship Management:Outstanding communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to engage senior level decision-makers.
Analytical & Data-Driven:Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data, market intelligence, and financial reports to inform business decisions.
CRM Proficiency:Expert knowledge in CRM systems and experience managing sales pipelines and reporting in a data-driven environment.
