Together, we are committed to achieving extraordinary results.About the role:As a Claims Assessor you will be talking to customers from a variety of backgrounds in New Zealand and Australia, responding to their queries about the claims processes and outcomes, helping them understand our products and how they apply to different events.On an average day in our Claims team, you may be:Identifying customer needs, problem solving, and providing practical solutions to claimsManaging admin tasks – processing claims and customer communicationsUsing your sound judgement to assess claims in-line with policy wordingDelivering exceptional customer experiences with efficiency and empathyWork PatternWe operate between 8:30am and 7.00 pm, Monday to FridayYou will need to be working full-time in our Auckland office for the 6-week training inductionHybrid work options available after training is completedAbout youA minimum of 2 years or more of experience in an insurance environmentClaims assessment experience is preferred; travel insurance would be a bonusWe can consider candidates with experience such as Paramedic, nursing, or Allied Health experienceSuperb written and verbal communication skills and can effectively convey messages to varied audiencesAbility to demonstrate great problem-solving skills and have excellent attention to detailResilient and can work well under pressure, while remaining empathetic to every customer's needsAbility to grasp technical systems quickly or experience with a CRM systemThere are lots of reasons you'd want to work with us:Fully subsidised medical insurance for you and your immediate whanauSubsidised pet and travel insurance and special discounts for your whanauAdditional parental leave benefitsLife & terminal illness insuranceExcellent work/life balance, including 5 days of wellbeing leaveOpportunity to purchase flexi leaveFlexible working options including work from home several days a weekHere at Southern Cross Travel Insurance, we recognise that people are as diverse as the places our customers travel to.
