**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) Directorate provides a vital link between the clinical and operational parts of the business. As a key member of the IOC, you will report to the Director of Operations and work closely with the provider arm Directorates, Health and Safety, and external partners such as government agencies, NGOs, iwi and NZ Police.

This role is to provide advice and guidance and to ensure Te Whatu Ora Waikato has the capability to respond effectively and efficiently to emergency or disaster events. This will be achieved through planning for impacts on service continuity and the testing and review of those plans; ensuring that Te Whatu Ora Waikato has realistic, efficient steps in place to reduce the impact on patients, employees and communities and to swiftly recover from emergency or disaster events.

You are a dynamic, confident and enthusiastic team player, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. You will also be able to provide leadership in a complex and rapidly changing environment and have proven experience in transferring processes and roles between locations and organisations. Success in this role hinges on your ability to prioritise competing demands, build relationships and communicate effectively across the organisation.

Required skills & experience you will need to be consider for this role:

- 5+ years experience in an Emergency Planning and Business Continuity role within an acute setting
- Broad experience of delivering Emergency Planning training to all levels of staff
- Significant experience of planning, organising, leading and coordinating Emergency Planning and Business Continuity exercises
- Specialist knowledge of Emergency Planning and Business Continuity legislation and Organisational policies
- Understanding of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act (CDEM Act) 2002 and National Health Emergency Plan

Desired skills and experience:

- ISO 22301 Certified Business Continuity Management
- Experience working within the health sector
- Diploma in Health Emergency Management or equivalent
