Are you an outstanding people leader and manager, with significant senior leadership experience in a community engagement related role, along with significant links into your community and are you able to demonstrate your capability to leverage those links? If so, you may be interested in this full time, fixed-term/secondment role at the Electoral Commission.

**About the role**:
This role will be required to lead the regional Community Engagement team to build and maintain authentic relationships and effective activities of engagement with prioritised communities, as well as ensuring that efforts consider both the Electoral Commission's TAUMATA Values Framework and our strategic priorities and objectives.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**The key responsibilities for the role include**:

- Leading and developing your team to be the best they can be to deliver outstanding community engagement alongside community partners.
- Providing engagement expertise to initiatives and programmes ensuring these are delivered according to engagement best practice model(s).
- Planning and managing the implementation of the Commission's engagement strategies, initiatives, and goals for the relevant electorates in consultation with the National Manager Enrolment and Community Engagement based on national objectives.
- Developing and implementing national and localised plans for the area of responsibility.
- Planning to support voting places in the region in consultation with National Office, Enrolment Processing, Regional Managers Voting Services, and Electorate Managers.
- Maintaining strategic partnerships and relationships with external parties in support of the wider Community Engagement team's engagement objectives.

- Significant people leadership experience at a senior level
- Significant connections within specific communities.
- Ability to build knowledge of community and build strategic/influential networks.
- Ability to take initiative combined with sound judgement.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Professional and results-oriented approach with good business and customer focus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
