**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have a permanent, full-time **Manager System Engagement** opportunity available to join our System Enablers & Engagement Group within the Prevention Directorate of NPHS**. **This role is critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures).

The **Manager System Engagement** is responsible for providing operational leadership and support across a team of five System Engagement Leads who are spread across New Zealand. The System Engagement function is a newly created function which is responsible for working across our national, regional and local levels to ensure the effective delivery of our National Screening and Immunisation programmes, working in partnership with key regional leaders. The primary organisational impact outcome sought from this position is to support cohesion and collaboration across a significant number of stakeholders nationwide.

- Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge and experience in business planning or performance management
- Demonstrates inclusive leadership and management skills able to maximise the quality and contributions of individuals and teams to drive outcomes
- Has the ability to maintain oversight of work responsibilities, to identify business / project requirements, to contribute to strategies, to plan, prioritise, delegate and organise work to deliver on short and long-term objectives
- Has the ability to monitor and analyse performance to ensure the quality of work, identify areas of improvement, problem solve, and make sound decisions to achieve goals
- Ability to think strategically and be agile and to solve problems through to resolution
- Demonstrates a desire to build constructive and effective relationships with stakeholders to build a sound understanding of their operational environment and context
- Needs to draw on relevant longer-term experience specific to the job and work demands, acquired over time 3-5 years
- Some experience in the health sector may be an advantage but is not critical
