**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The primary purpose of the role is to:
- provide trusted and valued, executive support and advice to the Head of Communications & Engagement in their work to lead the function and its strategic and operational deliverable.
- work alongside the Executive Leadership Team and other senior leaders to enable the delivery of the organisational priorities of Te Whatu Ora/Health NZ, and to drive continuous improvement in processes and practices within the team.
- provide expert knowledge and advice into the development and delivery of communication and engagement strategies, services, and support across the function to realise the strategic goals of the function.
- find new and effective ways for the Business Unit's team to deliver on its communications strategy and enhance the work of the wider organisation.
**Mōu | About you**
You will provide the Head of Communications & Engagement with high quality, strategically focused advice across the function's work strategy, programme, services, and support, including notification of emerging opportunities, and issues.
Be able to pre-empt pressures and issues that may impact delivery of key work across the team and advise on ways to lessen impact.
You will be able to confidently work across the wider Communications & Engagement team to foster a collaborative team environment where all kaimahi understand how their work impacts the wider organisational strategy.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- At least 10 years' experience working in a Business Unit's Role, with a minimum five years working closely with Chief Executives, Ministers, and other Senior Leaders.
- Considerable experience and proven success engaging and influencing diverse stakeholder groups and success delivering complex projects that have had a positive impact on organisations. Needs to draw on extensive experience in varied environments with a deep experience in high-pressure fast-moving environments where success relied on building strong relationships and delivering sound advice to senior leaders.
- A preference for experience in working across multi-disciplinary teams where multiple communications activities (media, design, strategic planning, stakeholder management), are needed to achieve a communications outcome.
