Senior Account Manager

**About the role**:
Nalco Water, an Ecolab division, provides process and water treatment chemical and equipment solutions, with a customer base that includes major NZ businesses across a variety of industry sectors.
We currently have an opportunity for an Account Manager to join our **Nalco Water Heavy **team in the Central Plateau / Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand.
Reporting to the Area Manager, your technical and commercial activities will involve managing our existing and potential new clients including major industrial and manufacturing facilities and geothermal businesses in the Taupo and Rotorua area.
This role involves regular travel so there may be a need for overnight stays.
**Key responsibilities will include**:
- Manage and develop the current client base within the region, leveraging our strong client relationships and driving service delivery.
- With the team, devising a business development strategy to maximise new account opportunities, for both process services and water treatment.
- Assisting with the troubleshooting of technical problems in a timely manner to ensure ongoing chemical treatment of process unit operations and water treatment facilities.
- Continuous improvement activities at our customer sites to add value to our supply partnerships.
- Manage stock levels and forecasting to maintain continuity of chemical supply
- System checks on monitoring equipment
- Prepare & deliver proposals and business review meetings with customers

- High commitment to Safety, Environment, Occupational Health and Quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with both internal & external customers
- Good mechanical aptitude, delivering a hands-on approach to service execution and adding value.
- Strong technical problem-solving ability.
- Can perform both individually and in a team environment.
**To be successful, ideally you will preferably have the following**:
- Account Management experience
- Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Science degree (or) experience in industry setting
- A desire to work in the water treatment and mineral processing industries.
- A strong aptitude for customer service sales
- An innate ability to quickly develop rapport and build strong working relationships with users of the products and chemical treatment programs.
- A pro-active approach to learning the technical aspects of the business.
