This is a key leadership role within the NZ Go To Market leadership team. The role will work closely with the Country Manager NZ and the wider NZ GTM leadership team in ensuring we reach, engage, and grow our market share of small business customers through our partner, direct, and strategic channels. The role will provide strategic insight & support to the Country Manager NZ and lead the NZ Sales Team r to help drive and optimise business performance through the Partner Channel (accountants and bookkeepers).
This role is ultimately responsible for Xero Partner growth (accounting & bookkeeping partners), and achieving the Partner Channel Org and Revenue sales targets for Xero in NZ. The role will also support the Country Manager to pursue business development opportunities to drive quality partnerships in NZ. Your people will be your strongest asset so you will also be responsible for living all our values and enhancing our already fantastic culture so your people can thrive.
**What you’ll do**:
**Responsibility for Partner Channel sales targets**
- Overall responsibility for Xero’s NZ sales territories, partner recruitment, partner enablement and industry leads
- Responsibility for the development and coaching of the sales function Responsible for development of business and territory plans
- Overall responsibility for Xero NZ partner sales targets by supporting and aligning the NZ Sales Leadership Team to achieve agreed targets
- Independently reviewing and assessing business unit initiatives of a strategic nature impacting the business
- Promote the Xero vision to accounting practices and associations on developing an advisory-focused Modern Practice
- Owning our national growth strategy for partner channel
- Responsible for development of business and territory plans to ensure individual salespeople achieve targets
- Providing timely sales coaching
- Assisting in the development of business strategies for Xero Partners to sign their clients on to Xero
- Providing the tools/resources to help Accountancy Practices implement an online strategy
- Be an ally for and champion of diversity, inclusion and belonging
- Working with key influential bodies and associations to ensure Xero is actively promoted within their membership base.
- Carefully monitor competition in the NZ market and provide valuable, timely and insightful input into competitive strategy.
**Leadership and culture**
- Actively participate in Xero’s NZ GTM Leadership Team to make a positive contribution to the strategic direction, people development and overall culture of Xero
- Setting comprehensive action plans to drive annual performance and growth whilst ensuring efficient and compliant business operations while supporting the wellbeing of your team
- Leadership and management of all the NZ partner sales team, including being responsible for overall people management of your team including the ongoing performance management, professional skills development and career progression of the team
- Build strong connections with the global sales community representing New Zealand with mana to increase the global sales capability
- Contributing to the annual planning and reporting cycle for the NZ business
- Management and delivery of major speaking engagements at both Xero-led and partner sponsored events
- Identifying opportunities/threats impacting the business
- Analysing and recommending actions, and where appropriate implementing recommendations
- Communicating with the Country Manager NZ to ensure she remains fully informed of all significant operating issues
- Build a positive external presence, in conjunction with the Comms team, as an ambassador of Xero e.g. via blogs, social media, webinars, events, and media engagement
- Work with Xero marketing to drive attendance at Xero events
- Facilitating quarterly reviews of partner sales performance and managing risks or issues achieving target
**Success looks like**:
- Meeting or exceeding your targets against the business plan for the partner channel, including:
- Customer revenue including upgrade and adjacents
- Gross and net customers (by-product) - known as orgs Customer Acquisition Costs
- Country sales and marketing costs and overheads
- Strong and consistent leadership driving pipeline to ensure acquisition, retention and growth of Xero’s small business customers. You
