An exciting opportunity has become available to join a talented, highly motivated and engaged team as a** Business Development Consultant** for our Asteron Life based in **Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington.**

The Purpose of the role is to attract, retain and manage a portfolio of intermediaries, and ensure targeted revenue, growth and profitability of the portfolio is achieved year on year.

Manage the day-to-day relationship management of an aligned panel of financial adviser businesses and will also support the Regional Manager in driving regional growth activities.
- This role will be working for the Asteron Life brand. _

**Your key areas pf focus will include**:

- To grow profitable new business (Life) through our intermediated adviser network and to deliver industry-leading levels of service to the intermediary base.
- Identify needs of Advisers and use this understanding to differentiate Asteron Life’s products, strengths and services from competitors, including presenting professional solutions available from us.
- Implement relevant professional solutions through provision and/or co-ordination of recruitment, training, succession planning, business and marketing planning assistance.
- Improve persistency levels by actively discouraging policy churn and working to identify solutions.
- Deliver product and systems training to intermediaries.
- Actively promote good customer outcomes with intermediaries and internal stakeholders.
- Support the Regional Manager (Life) and Executive Manager Life Distribution in implementing delivery of the Life Distribution business strategy to improve business performance and growth.

**What you’ll need to succeed**:

- Life insurance experience
- Presenting and negotiating to individuals and groups.
- Comfortable with technology and with working in a digital environment; “tech savvy” and able to quickly adapt to Asteron systems and processes.
- Customer service skills
