**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The primary purpose of the Senior Procurement Specialist role is to lead a range of procurement functions including the development and execution of procurement strategies for the relevant categories and sub-categories. In this role you will be tasked with developing sourcing strategies that manage probity and reflect the category goals. You will manage national, regional and local procurement sourcing activities including: exemption management, procurement plans development, RFx processes, collaborative procurement, and/or secondary procurement processes.

You are a procurement professional looking to take the next step in your career. You are comfortable dealing with complex commercial environments and categories and can bring your knowledge and experience to bear on difficult problems.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Commercial or procurement experience 5+ years
- Proven negotiation and contract management experience 5+ years
- Extensive experience with total cost of ownership / whole of life costing model
- A relevant graduate qualification
- Extensive experience in management of complex multi-stakeholder portfolios
- In depth knowledge of end to end procurement practice and proven ability to deliver savings
- Sound knowledge of government rules and processes, procurement framework, principles, processes, regulations and legislation
