**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The primary purpose of the role is to perform a range of procurement functions including the development and execution of procurement strategies for the relevant sub-categories. Through progressive procurement you will work to deliver broader outcomes that encompass sustainability, equity, value add, innovation and risk management, while contributing to procurement strategy across specific sub-categories, including prioritisation of initiatives

In this role you will develop sourcing strategies that manage probity and reflect the sub-category goals, while managing national, regional and local procurement sourcing activities including: exemption management, procurement plans development, RFx processes, collaborative procurement, and/or secondary procurement process. You will also negotiate contracts renewals or RFx contract outcomes as appropriate and lead the technical/clinical evaluation process, including equipment/products/services evaluations, configuration workshop/presentations and reference site check process.

This role will see you working with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders, including the Category Managers to develop and maintain an appropriate programme for Supplier Relationship Management for the category/portfolio of suppliers.

**Mōu | About you**

You would be an experience procurement professional with clinical background or experience of working in healthcare settings. You would have experience of dealing with complex procurement and supply chain situations dealing with multiple stakeholders with pressing requirements. You would be a self starter, excellent communicator and problem solver.

- 2+ years relevant commercial or procurement experience
- Qualification in any health discipline or experience of working in health for 3+ years
- Experience with total cost of ownership / whole of life costing model and management of complex multi-stakeholder portfolios
- In depth knowledge of end to end procurement practice
- Developed commercial skills that enable significant contributions to be made to the wider business agenda
- Ability to work strategically whilst simultaneously maintain a focus on detail
- Good interpersonal communication skills, speaking confidently and conveying clear and compelling messages
- Team player with excellent communication and influencing skills
- Confidence with qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Experience in the development of commercial documents that demonstrate a high level of commercial acumen and sound knowledge of commercial contracts
